Artist Statement
As a student of life practicing art, I’m fascinated by the subtle emotional nuances and dissonances that arise within interpersonal relationships.
My process begins with reconstructing hand-drawn imagery of figures and objects from memory into individual fragments. Then, I dissect and collage these pieces, creating new forms that find a home within a minimal, dream-like surreal landscape dedicated to initiating an intimate dialogue with viewers. These reincarnated forms, bustling with dissonance, strive toward an ideal of unity or oneness. Ultimately, they arrive at a state of visual harmony, with a quiet yet active tension signaling its life force.
As a gentle bid to embrace the full spectrum of what makes us human, my practice focuses on themes such as loneliness, yearning, chaos, and alienation. I aim to evoke empathy and invite viewers to psychologically inhabit these spaces, accepting their own emotional shadows with warmth and curiosity.
