My youth, spent oscillating between two distinct cultural realities, taught me to plant phantom roots on restless terrain. From this experience grew my fascination with subtle emotional dissonances and the delicate border that both connects and separates us.
I explore the tension of unity and the reality of separation in my practice. Working across drawing, sculpture, photography, and video, I place the human figure as a focal point to serve as an emotional vessel. Emerging from memory, these subjects transform into embryo- and ghost-like forms or become fragmented. To further heighten visual tension, I rearrange these fragmented pieces or pair them with stark geometric structures. Finally, these reincarnated forms find their home within minimal, surreal landscapes teeming with silent tension.
Ultimately, my work beckons viewers to embrace the quiet irony of the human condition with warmth and curiosity. It invites them to inhabit these landscapes with the figures, recognize the fragmented parts of themselves, and strive to reach wholeness, all while honoring the full spectrum of being human.
